HP today unveiled the new Victus brand for mid-range and low-end gaming notebooks. The first device with the new label was the HP Victus 16 presented today – it will start at $800 and will hit the market in June this year.
The design of the first Victus is inspired by the HP OMEN series – you can see it with the naked eye. The laptop, as the name suggests, features a 16-inch display crammed into what the manufacturer claims are a 15-inch chassis. The display at maximum speed is QHD with a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. Body-color options are Mica Silver, Performance Blue, and Ceramic White.
Processor choices for the Victus 16 range between Intel (up to Intel Core i7-11800H) and AMD (up to Ryzen 7 5800H). The kit also includes up to 32GB of DDR4 (3200MHz) RAM and 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 solid-state drive. In terms of graphics, there is a choice between an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 6GB of memory and an AMD Radeon RX 5500M. Among other things, the Victus 16 will receive a pre-installed OMEN Gaming Hub that adds Undervolting, Performance Mode, and Network Booster features.
