Top Homeschool Discounts on Amazon Prime in 2021
As homeschoolers, we are always on the lookout for a great deal on homeschool supplies.
Whether it’s tools to use in our homeschooling, or games and activities to enhance our kids’ learning, parents who home educate always have their eyes peeled.
But have you ever searched for homeschool tools on Amazon? That website can sometimes be VERY hard to navigate! I’ve spent hours trying to come up with search terms and scrolling through ‘related products’ and still come up empty-handed.
So to make my future shopping life easier (and to help you at the same time!) I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite homeschool discounts on Amazon Prime. And I update this page regularly so keep checking back for more ideas.
As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This page may contain affiliate links from various companies, which means if you click on a link and make a purchase, I might make a little bit of money, at no extra cost to you. Please see our disclosure policy for more details.
Amazon Prime Day 2021
Amazon Prime Day 2021 has come and gone and Prime Day 2022 has yet to be announced. But that doesn’t mean the savings have ended. Amazon often puts their top products on sale, and thankfully for us homeschoolers, learning supplies are typically pretty inexpensive on Amazon Prime.
While Black Friday 2021 is still months away, that doesn’t mean we can’t save money on homeschool supplies in the meantime.
Keep reading and I’ll share all my secrets. This is the best place to find deals on homeschool supplies.
Why Amazon Prime Instead of The Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op?
If you have been hanging around the online homeschooling for long, you might be familiar with The Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op. They used to be a popular place to go for discounts on homeschool curriculum. However, 2020 did not bode well for The Co-op and as a result, I can no longer recommend them in good conscience.
The Co-op has changed owners so many times over the years. As a result, their offerings of late have been pretty low quality and very sparse. Maybe in the coming years their new owners will be able to lift them up again but for now, The Co-op is just a random collection of resources that I would never use in my own homeschool so why would I recommend them?
Take that information as you will. I do hope that by 2025 The Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op becomes what it has always wanted to be and that homeschoolers everywhere will be able to depend on them for quality homeschool discounts again. But for now, know that Amazon Prime has some pretty good deals on homeschool curriculums as well as tools and resources that will benefit families that follow any homeschooling method.
Discounts on Amazon Prime Memberships
Now before we look at the cool sales and deals on homeschool supplies, I need to address something that keeps coming up.
I have had many people ask me about available homeschool discounts on Amazon Prime. So many people, in fact, that I decided it was time to add this update to this article.
So here are the results of my research.
As of 08/02/2021, these are the available discounts on Amazon Prime memberships.
Homeschool Discounts on Amazon Prime Memberships
I searched and searched the internet for any information on Amazon Prime membership discounts for homeschoolers and I could not find any concrete information!
So I went straight to the horse’s mouth. I emailed Amazon themselves. I told them I was doing research for an article and my readers were looking for any information on Amazon Prime subscription discounts for homeschoolers.
The response? There are none. I am very sad to report that there are no Prime membership discounts for homeschoolers specifically. But if that ever changes, I promise you will be the first ones I tell!
College Student Discounts on Amazon Prime Memberships
Amazon Prime does have a discount available for college students. You need to provide proof of college enrollment but this discount brings the membership price down significantly.
So if you or your spouse are a college student, then, by all means, take advantage of this college student discount!
Amazon Prime Membership Discounts for EBT Holders
If you are an EBT holder, you might qualify for an Amazon Prime membership discount!
According to my source, you might also qualify for a discount if you are on SNAP, WIC, or TANF, or Medicaid (including Medi-Cal).
It might be worth seeing if you qualify for a prime membership discount,
Free Trial of Amazon Prime
To start with, anybody who wants to take advantage of the 2-day shipping needs to have an Amazon Prime account. It’s an inexpensive monthly fee and you can sign up for a free month’s trial with no commitment.
But if you don’t have an account, that doesn’t mean you can’t shop! I shopped on Amazon for years before I finally signed up for an account of my own. You just have to wait a little bit longer for the shipment.
Without an Amazon Prime membership, Instead of 2-day shipping, you’ll get 4 or 5-day shipping. But it’s still often free so it’s really not that big of a deal.
And just so you know, every Amazon Prime membership comes with access to all the prime videos. There are a lot of fun homeschooling options in the prime videos.
We spend many a day using this resource to supplement our homeschool curriculum.

Homeschool Deals and Curriculum Discounts on Amazon for 2021
Did you know you can buy complete homeschool curriculum on Amazon? It’s true! Not very many people are aware of this, partly because the curriculum you get isn’t fancy or flashy. But hey, it’s also not expensive.
I don’t use these books in my homeschool, but I have a few friends who do, including my sister-in-law. She’s been using these all-in-one curriculum workbooks for a while now, and she and her family swear by them. They are so easy to implement, both for the students and the parent.
Check out just a few of the homeschool curriculum discounts available on Amazon!
Brain Quest Books
Brain Quest has been around for decades! I remember using these when I was in school, and the Brain Quest trivia cards are also a lot of fun.
The great thing about the Brain Quest workbooks is that unlike a lot of other complete workbooks, they include science and social studies in addition to the basic reading, writing, math, etc.
Brain Quest curriculum workbooks come in the following grade levels:
The Complete Book Series
The Complete Book series is a series of workbooks separated by grade. Each grade’s workbook features an entire year’s worth of curriculum. And they’re super affordable!
The Complete Book series includes reading, math, english, and writing. You’ll need another resource for science and history.
The Complete Book series workbooks come in the following grade levels:
Comprehensive Curriculum of Basic Skills
Another version of all in one curriculum workbooks is the Comprehensive Curriculum of Basic Skills.
These books are also an affordable way to get your child’s entire year’s worth of basic educational skills in one easy-to-use resource. They include reading, reading comprehension, math, spelling, grammar, and writing. You’ll need another resource for science and history.
The Comprehensive Curriculum of Basic Skills workbooks come in the following grade levels:
STEM Books
You can grab the paperback version of these STEM Made Easy books on Amazon. Each book contains roughly 100+ pages and at minimum 10 STEM projects, along with detailed instructions as to how to enjoy each project with your entire family.
These books are appropriate for ages 5-19 so feel free to gift them or use them as part of a whole family homeschool curriculum.
There are several editions available right now. So pick your favorite! The edibles one is my personal favorite but my kids prefer the dragon one so it’s really a matter of opinion I suppose.
There is also a new garden edition if you want to tie some STEM fun into your yearly gardening adventures.
Writing Workbooks
Writing workbooks are a good resource for anybody who wants to help their kids improve their penmanship. There are also some good cursive writing workbooks for those who are ready to teach their kids cursive.
Related – The Best Way to Teach Kids Cursive
First up is this ABC Learn to Write workbook. This is a very basic workbook that teaches your kids how to grip their pencil, how to follow basic lines, and how to trace shapes, letters, and of course, letters from the alphabet.
Use this book when you’re just starting out with your child’s education. It comes with 84 pages and it’s ideal for Kindergarten or Preschool.
Once they’ve mastered that book, your kids can move onto a more advanced handwriting book, such as this Trace the Letters Alphabet workbook.
This workbook has more than 150 pages so your kids are sure to have plenty of opportunity to practice and improve their penmanship. They’ll trace letters, words, and sentences. Bonus – they’ll also get to learn and practice their ABC’s while they’re at it!
Finally, when your child is older, say around 3rd grade or so, you can start introducing them to cursive.
There are dozens of cursive writing workbooks on Amazon but this is the one that my kids used when I introduced them to cursive. It’s a Beginning Cursive Handwriting book and it walks kids through the cursive version of each letter in the alphabet, both capital and lowercase. Then it gives them a little bit of practice stringing words together, which I also appreciated.
If you are teaching a child with ADHD, have you considered an ADHD workbook? This one comes with 60 fun activities that teach kids how to self-regulate, which could make a huge difference in their overall learning experience.
Discounts on Homeschool Room Supplies
Dry Erase Boards
One of our favorite homeschool tools is our dry erase board.
I love dry erase boards because they are a fast and easy way for me to draw or write something up for the kids during a lesson. They aren’t gritty like chalkboards, but they are still fast and reusable, unlike paper.
The kids like practicing their math and writing on dry erase boards too. Let’s be real – dry erase boards are FUN!
This cute little whiteboard is a great deal for homeschooling families. It’s double-sided for maximum usability.
One side is ruled for easy handwriting practice, and the other side is blank for more versatile uses (such as math practice or art fun!)
And it’s small enough your student can put it in his lap if he doesn’t like sitting at a desk or table.
Or if you’re looking for a bigger whiteboard, this large dry erase board is perfect for hanging on the wall of your school room for all your kids to see.
Bonus – this one is magnetic, which I like. I use this feature for hanging my kids’ artwork or any visual aids I’m using for our day’s lessons.
Melissa and Doug Educational Tools
Are you familiar with Melissa and Doug products?
I absolutely LOVE Melissa and Doug products. They are simple, educational-based toys that are great for kids.
Every year, when Amazon has a big sale such as for Black Friday or Amazon Prime Day, all Melissa and Doug products seem to be bundled into that sale. It’s probably my favorite sale to cash in on.
The Melissa and Doug line also has a line of educational products that are PERFECT for homeschoolers!
For example:
Check out this giant floor puzzle of the United States!
My kids do their best learning with hands-on activities such as this United States floor puzzle.
There’s just something about physically handling each and every state while trying to remember where it goes that really makes these geography lessons stick.
Plus, big floor puzzles like this are a lot of fun. The kids don’t even realize they’re learning!
Or these pattern blocks are another great Melissa and Doug option.
I remember playing with these blocks all the time as a child. I loved coming up with different shapes, patterns, and designs. I never understood how they were educational because I thought they were just so much fun!
Now that I’m a parent, I totally understand the educational aspect of these toys. Geometry, physics, and art all play an important part in a child’s mind when playing with these blocks. Not to mention the creative and imaginative aspect.
Definitely a win as far as I’m concerned.
Younger kids will get a kick out of hands-on manipulatives such as these wooden beads and laces. If you practice Montessori homeschooling, these would be a good addition to your learning space.
Honestly? There are so many educational Melissa and Doug toys, it’d be impossible to list them all here. But you really can’t go wrong with this brand.
Building blocks, easels, writing mats, puzzles, and so much more. Click here to jump directly to the educational Melissa and Doug toys and see for yourself.
Deals on Art Supplies
All good homeschool spaces have a plethora of art supplies and an arts and crafts stash!
I know my kids could spend HOURS of their free play doing arts and crafts if given enough supplies.
You could buy everything separately if you wanted. Then you’re sure to get exactly what your kids enjoy using.
I’m not creative enough to even know what to look for. So I just buy these premade arts and crafts kits for my kids.
I buy 2 or 3 at a time and let the kids have at it. My 7 kids can make 3 kits last a couple of months. It’s definitely worth the price to us. (Especially when it’s on sale, which it frequently is!)
Alternately, you could buy an arts and crafts busy box (for younger kids and preschoolers), a modeling clay kit (for older kids up to high school) or any other number of fun art kits!
Basic Crayola boxes also make great art supplies and brand is often on sale.
The sky is really the limit.
Telling Time Clock
Teaching kids how to tell time can be tricky. All those numbers and sequences. And what’s with the multi-sized hands??
It took all of my kids several weeks to really solidify these skills, and I don’t know if I could have done it without a learn to tell time clock.
We’d spend a few days teaching, they’d understand the concepts, but then I’d have to diligently practice with them over the next few months to make sure it had really stuck.
Clocks like this don’t go on sale very often. So when they’re on sale, you want to jump on them.
These are a great addition to any homeschool room.
Inexpensive Globe
Something about a globe just says scholar – at least to me.
I have always wanted to get a globe for my homeschool space. Globes just ooze education and knowledge.
But I always thought they were too expensive. Seriously – I thought they would be $50 or more for a cheap one.
Turns out, I was wrong! I found a bunch on Amazon for under $20. Sweet! Like this nice globe right here.
If I’d known globes were this inexpensive, I would have bought one years ago.
Kid Desks on Amazon Prime
Not every child can focus on school work at the dining room table. And not every mother is okay with having a child’s work spread out all over the kitchen.
If you’re a family who thrives on organization, then you might consider investing in a desk or table for your kids.
You could consider one of these adjustable desk and chair combos. These have been a favorite amongst my readers because they are so versatile and easy to use. These desks will grow with your kids from preschool to the tween years, making them a long-term investment.
This desk includes a rolling storage desk for putting school supplies, and the desk can be rotated from flat to angled, depending on your child’s preferences. And I was quite impressed with how much cheaper this kind of desk is on Amazon compared to my local furniture or office stores.
Or for older kids, you might consider a desk with lots of storage space, such as this one. You’ll have to find a separate chair, but that’s not the end of the world. This desk is a good option for the older teen who wants a quiet and clean place to work and store their school work.
Basic School Supplies on Amazon Prime
If you’re lucky enough to catch these basic school supplies on sale at your local store, then by all means, stock up! They only go on sale at those stores once a year (at least a sale worth mentioning)
But if you miss those sales, or if you just don’t want to fight the crowds (like me!) then online school supply shopping is a great way to go.
American Flag
Our family says the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in our homeschool.
I believe this is important so we have an American Flag in our homeschool space.
This American flag is easy to install on any wall and looks nice too.
Deals on Homeschool Tools
Laptops
I definitely consider ourselves to be techie homeschoolers.
Yes, we like our books. And our paper. And our art supplies and toys.
But honestly? We all enjoy school a whole lot more when everybody has their own tablet or laptop to work on.
This is actually my secret to homeschooling kids of multiple ages – get everybody their own device, set them up on their age-appropriate lessons, and then sit back and relax! (just stay close by to monitor)

Maybe you’ll be able to find some deals on laptops good enough to justify a fun new purchase!
Tablets
In our homeschool, we also use the Kindle Fire to incentivize the kids to finish their schooling properly. We have a Galaxy tablet that we love as well, but the Fire was a lot less expensive.
Every kid who finishes their school work without whining and crying and to the best of their abilities gets 30 minutes on the Kindle. (and when they’re playing educational games, it’s like a double win for this homeschool mom!)
If you also sign up for the Kindle Free Time, your device comes with a bunch of included educational games and books that my kids LOVE. (kid-tested, mom-approved)
Blue Light Glasses
If you plan on using a lot of devices in your homeschool, I suggest investing a few dollars in some blue light glasses. Blue light glasses filter the blue lights from your screens, thus reducing headaches, eyestrain, and irritability in kids (and adults) who spend a lot of time using screens.
My son and I have blue light filters in our perscription glasses but I have separate blue light filtering glasses for my husband and other kids and we have all noticed a big difference in health and attitude after a long day of schooling with screens. And these filtering glasses are usually pretty affordable, so there’s no reason not to.
Deals on Microscopes
If you are going to be exploring a science (including nature studies) this year in your homeschool, you might want to consider a microscope.
There is something to be said about looking at an object through a microscope. So much can be observed and seen that would not have been possible without that up-close view.
And you don’t have to spend a fortune on a microscope to get a good one. There are plenty of inexpensive microscopes on Amazon that have great reviews.
Echo Dot
How do we homeschool with an Echo Dot?
Well, for starters, the Echo Dot makes it easy to search for answers to any and all questions, without having to pull up a device. But even more than that, I love how our Echo Dot allows us to play audio books from our Audible account.
Our screen usage (i.e. TV and movie watching) has decreased drastically since signing up for an Audible subscription and playing them on our Dot, which is a win for this mom!
Right now, the Echo Dot is available for a great price. Don’t miss out!
And if you sign up for an Audible account, not only do you get credits for free books every single month (which don’t expire), not only will you get a 1-month free trial, but you get to keep any books you’ve saved to your library, even if you cancel your membership. It’s a win-win!
Discounts on Educational Toys and Games
Brain Flakes
We bought our kids a set of these brain flakes last year for Christmas. And they are probably one of the best toys we have ever purchased for our kids.
These things are like Legos on steroids! You can build anything your brain can dream up. They’re big enough I don’t worry about the littler kids choking on them (unlike Legos) AND if a bare foot steps on them in the night, they are flat so there is no pain (unlike Legos)
My kids play with these all the time. They’re always asking me to take pictures of their new creations. (and some of their creations are REALLY cool!)

In fact, I’ve been thinking it might be time to buy ourselves another bucket so the kids have even more to work with.
Bananagrams
We LOVE educational board games at our house, and Bananagrams is one of the greats. This is a favorite game at our house. And this game is a great way to practice spelling with the kids!
Related – Educational Board Games For Homeschoolers
Bananagrams is kind of like a Jr version of scrabble. You have your letter tiles and you need to build a word that connects off of previous words. When the tiles run out, the game is over! (rounds are usually about 10 minutes or so – perfect for kids)
Liberty’s Kids
The Liberty Kids series is one of the better ways we’ve found to teach our kids about the American Revolution.
It is a fun TV series about a couple of kids (some from America, some from England) and their first-hand experience of life at the time of the American Revolution. Lots of good educational lessons to be had. My kids talk about this series often when referencing that time period.
Educational Music and CD’s
Many families, my own included, use music to reinforce concepts. This is particularly the case for things that require memorization such as math and history.
In our homeschool, we especially love using math songs to memorize things like times tables.
There are a few great CDs available on Amazon that work really well for memorizing times tables. (Of course there are also plenty of options on YouTube but if you prefer to own your music rather than be stuck on YouTube, Amazon music is a good option.
Math Tutor Multiplication Songs is one such album that comes highly recommended. I have never listened to this album personally but I hear it’s great.
In our homeschool, we use Skip Count Kid Multiplication Songs. We have been using this collection for years and we absolutely love them.

Success Principle Children’s Books
Did you know you can use children’s books to teach kids success principles? These books go above and beyond moral lessons (although those are good too!) Success principles books teach kids things like:
- Leadership
- Teamwork
- Why failing is good
- How to face and overcome fears
- How to earn more money by serving more people
- How to be a finisher instead of a quitter
- And more
These books would be a great addition to any homeschool room, or any child’s library. Check them out today!
Or, if you’re interested in getting more behind-the-scenes training on teaching your kids this life-changing success principles, we also have a free online life hacks training series for parents to go along with these books.
Deals on Memberships
Audible Membership
We use our Audible membership A LOT. Every month you get any new audiobook included in your membership. And a lot of the audiobooks available for purchase are priced really well.
If you want to purchase an audiobook that is a bit on the expensive side, just wait until the next month rolls around and pick that book for free!
And if you ever turn off your audible membership, you get to keep the audiobooks that are already in your library. Which I think is very cool.
This is a great way to save money on homeschool curriculum supplements.all
We love to listen to our Audible books in the car. Road trips or just trips around town are both great places to listen to a great book!

Kindle Unlimited Membership
Have you considered adding a Kindle Unlimited Membership to your homeschool?
If your homeschool enjoys reading digital books, then this might be a good deal to consider. For whatever reason, my kids enjoy reading digital books a lot more than paper books.
Maybe because it feels more ‘techie’ or maybe because they never lose their spot if they put it down for a minute. I don’t know what it is. I just know I can get them to read more and for longer if it’s on a screen.
Needless to say, we are fans of prime reading and the kindle in our homeschool.
