Preview — The Bold Type Season 3 Episode 1: The New Normal

Toto, we’re not in Paris anymore on The Bold Type Season 3 Episode 1, “The New Normal.” We’re back in New York City, and that means that the lives of the Scarlet ladies and gentleman are going to start moving full speed ahead again. 

Our favorite fake magazine for women has always had men on the payroll — but running things? That’s a different story. Until now.

That’s right, a man named Patrick Duchand is running digital now, probably thanks to the all-powerful “board.” We’re betting Jacqueline, Jane, Kat and Sutton like that idea as much as we do. In case you need clarification, we don’t like it at all. 

Poor Kat has to work directly under him and keep up appearances as The Scarlet Summit, all while dealing with her breakup with Adena. 

But don’t worry, there is sun shining through the clouds for some ladies. Jane might be pissed that a man will be in charge in the office, but she’s made her choice between Dr. Ben.

Meanwhile over on Cloud 9, Sutton and Richard are enjoying their love in the spotlight and thinking about moving in together. 

Episode description: Picking up right after the heartbreak, romances and uncertainties from the season two finale in Paris, Jane, Kat and Sutton are back in New York City and dealing with the aftermath of some major decisions. Scarlet Magazine brings in Patrick Duchand to run the digital branch, effectively knocking Jacqueline down to only running the print magazine. Meanwhile, Jane has picked her guy, but is frustrated that a man is put in charge of a women’s magazine. Kat struggles to keep up happy appearances on social media and as a speaker at the Scarlet Summit, while secretly suffering heartache, and Sutton and Richard enjoy their romance in the limelight and discuss moving in together.
