Best Amazon Prime Day travel deals
Today and tomorrow is Amazon Prime day with some great deals for Amazon Prime Members. Here is my pick of the best deals:
Luggage & accessories
I am something of a suitcase junkie and I’m really tempted by this stylish-looking Antler Portobello Medium Hard Shell Suitcase in silver which is expanding and comes with a built on TSA lock. It’s reduced by £56.70 and comes with a 10-year warranty.
My usual luggage brand is Samsonite and my current suitcase has been going strong through around 150 journeys! They don’t have the same one as mine in the sale but the Samsonite Flux – Spinner L Expandable Suitcase, 75 cm is an absolute bargain at only £102.38 (47% discount).
I never travel without my packing cubes. Not only does it help you fit more in, but it’s also great for shorter trips or stays as you don’t need to fully unpack. I use each one for different categories of clothes such as underwear, tops, evening outfits etc which makes things super easy to find.
There are several options and colours in the sale:
A seven-piece set for £11.16 in charcoal grey
An eight-piece set in a pretty baby blue for £9.09
Or these special compression art-themed ones that will help save space. You put your clothes in a normal size cube and then zip down to a much flatter shape. They cost £20.79 for three pieces.
It’s easy to lose small bits of jewelry when travelling or they can become tangled. I particularly like this organiser as it is double-sided allowing you to keep things separate. The faux leather jewelry case cost just £9.44.
Gadgets
If you are worried about overpacking or whether you can bring home that extra bottle of wine, a set of luggage scales is essential and very cheaply priced.
I often find that luxury hotels don’t have an iron or ironing board or if they do you end up with bits or marks from the iron on your clothes. Having a portable steamer is a quick way to refresh your clothes without the hassle of ironing. The Uarter Portable Clothes Steamer comes with a carrying case and only costs £21.59. You can use it at home as well, so it’s a good investment if you hate ironing!
With mask-wearing making you hot and sweaty at the best of times, I wish I’d had one of these while in Malta’s heat last week. These are the latest in cooling rather than a handheld fan and you wear it around your neck. They look like you are wearing headphones around your neck. The portable Neck Fan, Rechargeable Hands Free Bladeless Fan with 360° Free Rotation costs £17.99.
My travel charger is probably the most essential thing in my bag after my passport and Covid 19 negative test! If you simply want USB only, this is perfect with 4 ports. The USB Plug Charger, 4-Port USB Universal Travel Adapter Plug, 24W/5V Wall Charger with UK/US/EU costs £9.58 which is 20% off.
Sound and vision
These Sony WH-1000XM3 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones are some of the best on the market and are now reduced by £132. Paul was very impressed when he bought his. You can read his review here.
If you are looking for something a little cheaper, there are also the Sony WH-CH710N Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones which cost £75 a saving of £24.
If you prefer something more like the air pods, the MORE ComfoBuds Pro True Wireless Earbuds are only £69, a saving of £30. They are the latest in wireless technology and debuted at CES 2021. The six noise cancelling modes, 15 minute quick charge and 28 hours of playback are all very impressive.
Beauty and toiletries
This hair dryer works on a similar principle to Dyson which provides fast drying with minimum damage and comes with all the relevant accessories. It’s compact and lightweight making it perfect for travel.
I always use hanging toiletry bags to keep everything organised and stop leaks. This neutral coloured one has plenty of compartments to accommodate all your toiletries and folds into a bag.
I decant my products into mini bottles rather than buying single-use plastic individual products whenever I can. For a start it’s cheaper and then I know I can always use the products I like the best. The spray bottles are cheap at £4.23 but produce a fine mist and hold 60ml but there is also a 100ml version. So far they are lasting well in my luggage!
